Automatic or Batch Migration Process

1. Start CATIA V5 & go to Tools / Utility / catiaV4 to catiaV5 Migration. Window appears as shown in the following image.
   
2. Select the .model files to be migrated from browse.
3. Specify the target directory in which the migrated data has to be transferred.
4. Run the Migration Process.

Manual Migration Process

1. Open the .model file in CATIA V5.
2. Manually copy the “master” & paste it in new .CAT Part file.
3. Similarly copy the “draft” & paste it in new .CAT drawing file.
4. Save both .CAT Part file & CAT Drawing file in the destination folder by same name as that of the .model file.

Quality checks to be carried out

1. Check the .CAT Part & .CAT drawing files. Both should be exactly similar to the .model files “master & draft”.
2. After Migration the text fonts in the Drawing get bold. So unbold the text.
3. Change the color of the Text to black.
4. Similarly change the color of the Dimensions to black.
5. Check all the annotations, balloons, tolerances added, font of all should be unbold & according to the .model files draft.
6. If necessary give the Dummy link to the .CAT drawing with respective .CAT Part by inserting the isometric view.
7. Make the CATIA V5 sheet size exactly equal to the migrated sheets frame size such that it should fit in the background display sheet.
8. Move the entire sheet which is migrated, such that it will fit within the background display sheet.
